The parent company of KÖNIG, Pan Mar Corporation was an established importer and exporter since 1935. In 1975 Pan Mar began its involvement with the import and export of automotive parts and accessories, including wheels, from their offices in the New York City area. In the late 1970's and early 1980's, most American consumers interested in aftermarket wheels only knew the names such as CRAGAR, CENTERLINE, WESTERN, AND KEYSTONE.
During the early 1980's, wheel manufacturers from Japan, Germany, Brazil,
Italy, France, Mexico, Australia, Taiwan, and the U.S. began to recognize
the potential for growth in the aftermarket wheel business and the explosion
began. This was the same time, 1983 to be exact, that KÖNIG began
its operations as a division of Pan Mar. Today there are hundreds of manufacturers
and importers engaged in the wheel business and KÖNIG is considered
one of the leaders and trendsetters.

At KÖNIG we have a saying that you may have seen in our numerous magazine ads, "Style is Everything." That philosophy was definitely brought home in the mid 1990's with KÖNIG TUNER, the first nationally known wheel during the rapid rise of the sport compact TUNER market. Next came the KÖNIG MONSOON, a stylish but affordable five spoke that enhances any vehicle in the 15 through 18-inches sizes.
A few aftermarket wheel lines are fortunate enough to have a signature wheel that enthusiasts everywhere can identify and the MONSOON is that wheel for KÖNIG. It may seem hard to believe with today's fast changing trends, but the KÖNIG MONSOON has remained a sales leader for nearly two years. Be assured that KÖNIG continues to bring new styles to the market place every season. In January 2001 KÖNIG will unveil eight new designs that will be a hit.
The TUNER and MONSOON put KÖNIG on the map, and KÖNIG plans
to stay on that map.
