Guevent Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) began in 1961 as Guevara and Sons. It was to become the launch pad of the entire conglomerate: nurturing the individual growth of the companies and developing its real estate assets as its singular vision.

The company characterized the boldness of its pioneer, Domingo Guevara, consistently venturing into new grounds. Early then, it was involved in "new" and diverse businesses such as communications, equipment, computers, helicopters and airplanes.

It was also sincere in the goal of being a truly Filipino investment company. Strickly investing in projects that are locally resource-based.

Thus, is history: in 1971, it bore a new name, G & S Corporation. Through it, member companies were eventually harnessed and reared to independence until such time that they are ready to stand on their own. Its assurance of individual growth, while cultivating the rise of the rest of the Guevent Group of Companies, comes as a matter of course.

Finally, in 1979, it changed its name to Guevent Industrial Development Corporation. Underlying its corporate strength is its mature experience and abilities. Throughout, GIDC has generated strong liquidity position, management quality, corporate creativity, entrepreneural drive and nationwide outreach.

True to its role within the conglomerate, GIDC is on the threshold of developing its real estate holdings in Naga City, EDSA-Pasong Tamo in Makati and EDSA-Pinatubo in Mandaluyong City.

Above all, the company remains true to its beginnings: the steady use of local talents, local resources, and the creation of products and services relevant to the quality of life of its own people, and the "Filipino" in general.
